Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani inaugurated the Times of India and Claris T20 School Soccer Tournament organized here in Ahmedabad today. It is worth to mention that around 56 teams are participating in this tournament from across the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rupani said that State Government is committed to boost the interest as well as to bring out sports skills in youths, so that they receive great achievements at national as well international platform. It is because of Khel Mahakumbh and other initiatives taken by our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi that shaped sportspersons of international level. Nearly 40 lakh youths - athletes participate in Khel Mahakumbh every year.
In the last three years, Gujarat has received total 700 medals including 380 Gold, 208 Silver and Bronze in the National and International fields.
Mr. Rupani said that, the game of football has a specific platform at international level, GoG is constantly striving to join more and more youths in these sport and to make lead. He complimented Claris and Times of India for popularizing football in the state.
Claris Managing Director Arjun Handa said that his company has been relentlessly encouraging football in Gujarat past several years. This tournament has been organized to support students develop their physical abilities and talent.Times of India Resident Editor Harit Mehta among other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
