DPSRU takes initiatives for making campus Swacha and Swastha Abhiyan


It is well said 'Every drop makes an Ocean'. As the Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal, Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSR University), feels that every drops has its own significant and add value for making India ‘Swachch and Swastha’. Delhi Chief Minister, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal Ji launched an awareness campaign for the prevention of Dengue and Chikungunya. To make effective this campaign, and put forward the combined efforts with DPSR University team, Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal took various initiatives by checking DPSR University for any possible sources of stagnant clean water, water lodging which can lead to the breeding of Aedes Mosquitoes which spread the vector borne diseases at least 10 sunday.

To make effective and have a contribution to this campaign, the Dengue prevention movement and DPSR University Swachhatha and Swastha Abhiyan was started as “Dus Ka Dum” for prevention of deadly disease like Dengue in DPSR University on 8th September, 2019. It will be carried forward to next 10 Sunday. The faculty members actively cooperated and participated in the movement along with some students.

The faculty members namely Dr. Madhu Gupta, Dr. Mahaveer Dhobi, Dr.Ajit K Thakur, Dr. J Swaminathan, Dr. Mukesh Nandave and Dr. Keerti jain along with students surveyed the whole campus for dengue and drained water that was left in syntax, muddy pit and on the floor. Dr. Madhu Gupta poured kerosene oil in the clogged water in order to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. The long grass in the campus was trimmed and the various measures were taken for inhibiting the breeding of mosquitoes along with cleaning of drains by some workers. Students also enthusiastically participated in cleaning of various places in campus having clogged water.
