“Gujarat has now became the hub of Pharmaceuticals with 33 % share in manufacturing & 28 % share in export of medicines of India. This share is useful in improving our Foreign Exchange situation. Previously there was Alembic Pharma Company 112 years ago, but now we have 4500 pharma companies working in the state. Government of Gujarat is trying to develop the pharma sector with increasing 5500 seats in colleges of Pharma, Medical & Dental fields.” This was stated by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Nitinbhai Patel in Pharma Vision 2019.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, largest student organisation in the world with more than 22 lakh members in association with Ramanbhai Patel College of Pharmacy (RPCP), a constituent institute of Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) organized 9th National Seminar Pharma Vision 2019 on 7th and 8th September near Anand in Gujarat. More than 1500 students of Pharma Sector from various institutes across the country participated in the seminar.
Hon’ble Higher Education Minister Shri Bhupendra Sinh Chuadasama was the Guest of Honour in the mega event. He said that Due to Vibrant Gujarat vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendrabhai Modi, many national & international level industries were attracted for investment in Gujarat. Because of the efforts now Gujarat has became Pharma hub with flourishing of lots of big companies like Cadila, Zydus, Troikaa, Intas etc. He advised students to understand the responsibilities towards society & nation through new innovations & research in Pharma Sector.
Dr. Ketan Patel, CMD of Troikaa Pharma also addressed the gathering. He said that Knowledge is power, which can provide strength to nation and useful in nation-building. He appealed students to contribute in nation-building process irrespective of caste and creed differences. A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. Dr. Ketan Patel, has more than 30 years of experience in the pharma industry. He is an innovator, entrepreneur and pharmacist. He gave inspirational speech for the students.
Shri Shreehari Borikar, Spoke to the pharmacy students about the changing scenario of healthcare in India and the role which pharma students could possibly play in bringing a pivotal change in it at the opening ceremony of 2 day national seminar. National Vice President of ABVP Prof.(Dr) C.N. Patel, Charusat President Shri Surendrabhai Patel, Advisor Dr. B.G. Patel, Provost Dr. Pankaj Joshi, Principal of RPCP Dr. Manan Raval, MLA of Khambhat Shri Mayurbhai Raval, Prof.(Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancelor of Gujarat Technological University & VCs of various other universities, Regional VP of ABVP Sanjay Chauhan & Joint Secretary Himalaysinh Zala were also present on the occasion.
Shri Mansukhbhai Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers was the Chief Guest in 2nd Day. He said that the main objective of this event was to promote dissemination of the knowledge and to spread awareness amongst the students and academicians about the current scenario and future prospect in pharma sector. The most interesting in 9th Pharma Vision is to include range of activities like, Quiz, Dare to Sell (Digital Marketing), Pharma Recipe Making, Inncrepharm, Poster presentation, Model Presentation and Youth Parliament. This carnival opened up new horizons of opportunity to the students of various colleges to interact with each other and hone their presentation and technical skills.
