‘Ayurvedic Garden’ will be constructed in Rajkot

Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani launched the ‘Urban Forest Program’ in Rajkot. As many as 18 to 22 types of 22995 evergreen plants will be planted along the banks of Aji river in an area of 47 acres. There will be 18 blocks wherein a number of organisations will join hands for afforestation. An ‘Ayurvedic Garden’ will also be constructed in the city.

The CM said that as many as 10 crore saplings will be planted across the state as a part of Van Mahotsav this year. In Rajkot alone, it has been decided to plant 2 lakh saplings out of which 1.77 lakh have already been planted. The target of planting 2 lakh saplings has been completed today, on the birthday of Chief Minister Rupani. The CM thanked the Rajkot Municipal Corporation for this noble gesture and added that this memorable gift shall always remain close to his heart. Mr. Rupani appealed one and all to join hands and work towards improving the condition of environment. Mr. Rupani launched the book ‘Resurgent Rajkot’ and honoured people who are sustainable in their approach, in terms of utilising the resources and the way of living.

Environment Minister Mr. Ganpatsinh Vasava wished the CM on behalf of the citizens and added that it is the need of the house to fight against rising temperatures and degrading environment. “We must utilise our resources judiciously and it has been instilled in our traditions to worship the forces of nature. Let us all join hands and worship them by not misusing the available gifts of nature”, he added. MLAs Mr. Govindbhai Patel, Mr. Lakhabhai Saagathiya and Mr. Arvindbhai Raiyani, Mrs. Anjaliben Rupani, Collector Dr. Rahul Gupta and a number of officials were present during the event.
