Ahmedabad: Gujarat Technological University (GTU) organised 8th Centralized Placement Fair on 25-26 May 2019 at GTU Chandkheda Campus, where in 79 companies are taking part with more than 1450 job offers during two days. In this programme 1000+ students of Final Year D.Pharm / B.Pharm / M.Pharm are taking part on each days. These students are ready to join industry on immediate basis, as their exams are over just before the placement fair dates, Prof.(Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU said. Accuprec team comprising of Manish Suthar, Asawari Gawande and Priyank Shah selected candidates.
Ketan Naik, Chief Executive of Astral Pharmaceuticals was the Chief Guest in inaugural session. He advised students to get updated and also focus on diversified fields also. In GTU placement fairs every year, continuously increase in number of participating companies along with increased number total job openings on yearly basis was reported, which reflects positive and upward movement for growth of pharmacy industry as well bight future opportunity for students and improving Industry Academia Partnership. In this age of competition, fields like IPR and automation will be part of pharma sector. So it has become necessary for students to continuously improve their skills. Due to upcoming changes in syllabus, employability of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) students will improve, Padmin Buch, well-known IPR expert and BoA chairman of Accuprec Research Labs said.
For the benefit of students, grooming session on varied topics were planned and video lectures were recorded through BISAG as part of Pre-placement workshop, on the topics of soft skill development, carrier options to pharmacist, job opportunities and carrier path in various job areas like as Production, Marketing, QA-QC, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, IPR, Pharmacist, Project Management, Clinical Research, CRO operations etc. This content is also uploaded on YouTube channel, so that students may get benefited without any time bound limitation and this will also be useful to students from another institute of nation as well. GTU has strategically planned this programme in such a way, so that finals year students exam is finished on 18.05.2019 and programme is planned on 25-26 May 2019, so that students can get job immediately after their exam and can join industry within a period of 7-10 days., Amit Patel, co-ordinator of the placement fair told.
