The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the new 750 bed annexe of Guru Gobind Singh Hospital to the nation in Jamnagar. Addressing the huge gathering, the Prime Minister appealed to the citizens to conserve each and every drop of water for the benefit of present and future generation.Hailing the health sector revolution in Gujarat, Prime Minister said that the hospitals that have come up in the past few years in Gujarat will greatly benefit the poor. He said that Ayushman Bharat scheme rolled out by the Union Government will ensure affordable and quality healthcare for the poor.
The Prime Minister, inaugurated the 1200 bed New Civil Hospital, New Cancer Hospital, Dental Hospital and Eye Hospital in Ahmedabad. He Addressed the gathering at the BJ Medical College Ground. Stating health as a priority of the Union Government, PM said that the government is building quality health care infrastructure throughout the country, from Wellness Centres to Medical Colleges. He also mentioned about the world classhealth facilities being built throughout Gujarat.He added that once completed, Medicity will cater to around ten thousand patients.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated the newly built ‘Medicity’, comprising Women-Child Super Specialty, Cancer, Eye and Dental Hospital, costing Rs.1,450-crore at the Asia’s biggest Civil Hospital complex at a function in Ahmedabad.
Speaking at the function, he said it is not easy to treat 10,000 patients by 10,000 doctors and paramedic staff daily at one venue. He said that his government believed in inaugurating the projects for which it laid the foundation stone. He listed 15 new AIIMS in the country, spreading medical facilities in villages as some of the projects his government has taken up. Nearly 15-lakh people have been benefitted under Jan Arogya Yojna within five months of its launch. Mr. Modi presented benefit under Ayushman Bharat to Manishaben Wankar and Prakashbhai Solanki.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said his government would build Ahmedabad-like Medicity in all the Civil Hospitals in the state as part of modernization. They will also have night shelters with the facility of the boarding and lodging.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel gave the credit of upgradation of civil hospitals, besides increasing medical seats by 4,500 to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s farsightedness.

आज अहमदाबाद के विकास के लिए, यहां के जन-जन के लिए ऐतिहासिक दिन है। थोड़ी देर पहले अहमदाबाद मेट्रो के पहले फेज़ का लोकार्पण हुआ है और साथ-साथ दूसरे फेज का शिलान्यास भी हुआ है। और अभी यहां पर अहमदाबाद की ही नहीं, बल्कि गुजरात की, देश की एक बहुत बड़ी स्वास्थ्य सुविधा का लोकार्पण किया गया है। अहमदाबाद के जीवन को बदलने वाले इन projects के लिए मैं आप सबको बहुत-बहुत बधाई देता हूं। आज medi-city के विस्तार का सपना, अहमदाबाद के लोगों को सारी स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं एक ही छत के नीचे देने का सपना भी पूरा हुआ है। एक साथ चार अस्पतालों का यहां लोकार्पण किया गया है। महिलाओं और बच्चों के लिए एक विशेष super specialty अस्पताल, कैंसर अस्पताल, eye hospital और dental hospital एक ही जगह पर आपकी सेवा के लिए, गुजरातवासियों की सेवा के लिए तैयार है।
साथियो, अहमदाबाद के दशकों पुराने civil hospital को medi-city के रूप में विकसित करने के लिए 2008 में काम शुरू किया गया था। मुझे खुशी है कि एक दशक के भीतर देश की सबसे बड़ी health care facility medi-city के रूप में आज यहां बन करके तैयार है। उसका स्केल देखिए, जो लोग ये टीवी पर सुनते होंगे देश में, उनको भी सुन करके अचरज होगा; ये ऐसा कैम्पस जिसमें लगभग 10 हजार डॉक्टर, मेडिकल स्टूडेंट, पेरामेडिकल स्टॉफ, sport staff मिलकर हर दिन लगभग 10 हजार मरीजों को यहां सेवा देने वाले हैं।
आप कल्पना कर सकते है, यानी एक प्रकार से 20 हजार की जनसंख्या वाला ये गांव बन गया ये। आज के लोकार्पण के बादmedi-city में बेड की क्षमता बढ़कर 5,500 हो गई है और बात यहां तक ने वाली नहीं है, इसमें और भी विस्तार होने वाला है। मुझे विश्वास है कि जिन बाकी अस्पतालों पर काम चल रहा है, वो भी बहुत जल्द बन करके तैयार होंगे।
साथियो, लोगों का स्वास्थ्य हमेशा से हमारी सरकार की प्राथमिकता रही है। आज सुबह मैं जामनगर में था, वहां पर भी 700 बेड के अस्पताल का उद्घाटन किया है। उत्तर हो, दक्षिण हो, पूर्व हो या पश्चिम; स्वास्थ्य से जुड़े infrastructure और health education के संस्थानों में अभूतपूर्व विकास आज देश अनुभव कर रहा है। आज देशभर में 22 एम्स या तो काम कर रहे हैं या उसका construction का काम चल रहा है।
इनमें से 15 एम्स पर बीते 5 वर्षों में ही काम हुआ है। 22 में से 15 इस 55 महीने में। हमारा प्रयास कि देश के छोटे से छोटे कस्बे तक बेहतर स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं को ले जाया जाए। इसके लिए wellness centreसे ले करके medical college तक एक सिलसिला चलाया जा रहा, एक chain चलाया जा रहा है।
साथियो, एक वो भी समय था जब गरीब और निम्न-मध्य वर्ग को भाग्य के भरोसे छोड़ दिया गया था। न पर्याप्त अस्पताल थे और न ही इलाज में सहयोग देने के लिए कोई अच्छी योजनाएं। इलाज के खर्च की वजह से देश के करोड़ों गरीब अस्पताल ही नहीं जाते थे। देशभर में आयुष्मान भारत PM-JAY, ये PM-JAY योजना, लोग उसको मोदी केयर भी कहते हैं। ऐसे अनेक लाभार्थी, उनसे मैं मिलता रहता हूं। आज भी यहां आने से पहले मैं मिला हूं। आजकल मैं देशभर में जब भी ऐसे लाभार्थियों से मिलता हूं, उनसे बातें करता हूं। आयुष्मान भारत योजना उनके लिए जीवनदान बनकर आई है।
साथियो, इस योजना को पांच महीने से कुछ ही ज्यादा वक्त हुआ है, लेकिन अब तक 14 लाख से अधिक गरीब मरीजों को इलाज मिल चुका है। आज गरीब से गरीब को भी अच्छे इलाज का विश्वास मिला है, तो वो उसके पीछे कैसे संभव हुआ? ये आज गरीब को इतनी सुविधा मिल पाई, इसके पीछे किसकी ताकत है बताइए किसकी वजह से हुआ है? किसकी वजह से हुआ है? किसकी वजह से हुआ है? अरे दोस्तों, ये मोदी की वजह से नहीं हो पा रहा है, ये हो पा रहा है इसलिए कि आपने 2014 में सही निर्णय किया था, सही जगह पर वोट दिया था। 2014 में आपने सही नीयत वाली एक मजबूत सरकार के पक्ष में मत दिया था, उसी का परिणाम- आज देश का हमारा गरीब और मध्यम वर्ग का परिवार उसका फायदा उठा रहा है, उसको जिंदगी में नई आशा पैदा हुई है।
भाइयो और बहनों, हमारी सरकार ने एक बुनियादी बदलाव देश की राजनीति में करने का प्रयास किया है। जो भी करना है, साफ-सुथरा और डंके की चोट पर करना है। राष्ट्रहित में, जनहित में बड़े से बड़ा फैसला लेना हो और कड़े से कड़ा फैसला लेना हो, हम पीछे नहीं रहते। आप देख रहे हैं बात चाहे भ्रष्टाचार से लड़ने की हो या फिर आतंकवाद से, हमारी नीति और नीयत, दोनों मेरे देशवासियो आपके सामने हैं।
याद करिए दोस्तो, इस सिविल अस्पताल में क्या हुआ था। ये अस्पताल इंसान को जिंदगी देता है और राक्षसों ने.. मैं जब यहां मुख्यमंत्री था, इसी सिविल अस्पताल में बम धमाके किए थे और निर्दोष लोगों को मौत के घाट उतार दिया था। याद है कि नहीं है? सीमा के उस पार से आतंक होता था। क्या उस समय दिल्ली में बैठे हुए लोगों का दायित्व नहीं था कि हिसाब चुकता करें? भाइयो और बहनों, ऐसी-ऐसी चीजें मेरे दिल में पड़ी हुई हैं और मैंने उस दिन भी कहा था, पुलवामा के बाद मैं publically कहा था कि जो आग देशवासियों के दिल में है, वो आग मेरे दिल में भी है। अगर उस समय सरकार में दम होता तो अहमदाबाद के सिविल अस्पताल में निर्दोषों की जान लेने वालों को वहां जा करके भी हिसाब चुकता कर देते वहीं।
