67th Gujarat University Convocation was held recently in the presence of The Hon'ble Governor of Gujarat Shri O.P. Kohli and Chairman of Cadila Healthcare Ltd., Zydus Group Shri Pankaj Patel. Shri Pankaj Patel gave inspirational speech.
Addressing the students, he said that, now onward your life is going to be different life. Keep connect with friends & Alma matter, as they will be biggest source of inspiration.
Five Mantras for success:
[1] Adopt Change
This World has become uncertain and is continuously changing. Technology is the biggest disrupt-er. As a result everyday new things occur that we were doing previously will change today & tomorrow. That's why it will be very bumpy ride in upcoming time for all of us. But change is something which is constant and you cannot avoid that. Everyday we add one day in our life. Every year we add one year in our age. The same way everything is constant changing thing That's why it is important that don't resist the change, but adopt the change. Adopting Change will make you successful in our life. You all have dreams, you wants to do something. Dreaming is great thing to happen, but only dreaming cannot be helpful in achieve anything. Execution of dream is very important. If you execute your dream well, or if you execute it with lot of energy, lot of hard work, then dream can become successful.
[2] Excel whatever you do
Second thing is excel whatever you want to do. Execution excellence is second important thing in life.
[3] Try to do something innovative
Third thing, as technology changing rapidly, the world is evolving so fast that if you do the same thing as I was doing, you cannot be better that me. But if you think different and start innovation definitely you can be different. A smallest innovation can make huge difference Whatever you do, try to innovate, try to do something new and excel in whatever you doing.
[4] Trust people The Fourth most important thing in the world is you cannot go alone. Whatever you want to do, you will need team or colleagues with you and respect for each-other as well as collaborating with each-other is very important. That will help. Always give respect and trust people. Now-a-days trust crisis is the biggest problem around the world. Respect everybody around you and always trust people around you, may be your driver, may be your staff member in office or small worker at your home. It will make huge difference in your life.
[5] Integrity is the most important
Integrity is the Fifth most important in life. Always do everything with integrity. Shortcuts can never get you success. Short cut may bring you temporary success, but if you want long time success, you must work with integrity. Your professional expertise and your character will shape your future successes. So give equal importance to both. Diversity of thought is important. So no matter what your area of specialization is, learning about diverse fields and varied topics will truly expand your horizon. Pollinate your work with inspiration from diverse fields.
More than 52,000 students graduated at Gujarat University's (GU) 67th convocation of which 100 girls bagged gold medals. The University gave away 252 gold medals to meritorious students as well as scholarships to 59 students.
Dr Himanshu Pandya, Vice-chancellor, Gujarat university said, "This has always been the case at the university. Girls are more meticulous and sincere as compared to boys and hence they eventually end up bagging more gold medals."
Gujarat University has started Atal Innovation Medal from this year's convocation. The university honoured two startups being incubated at the Gujarat University Startup & Entrepreneurship Council (GUSEC). Shikha Shah of Canva Fibre Labs and Raja Kambhampati of Episodic Labs. While Shikha's venture converts agricultural waste into textile fibre at large scale, Kambhampati has created a sports IoT device and an accompanying platform that helps aspiring sportspersons train better using artificial intelligence and data learning.
The Gujarat University Startup and Entrepreneurship Council (GUSEC) supports startups, entrepreneurs and innovators in Gujarat, and facilitates the promotion of a culture and spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation across the university in order to sensitise over 3,50,000 enrolled students with 300+ affiliated institutes and 50+ academic departments of the university. GUSEC activities is managed by team under the guidance of Shri Rahul Bhagchandani.
