Gujarat also gets Clean Street Food Hub Award
Gujarat has received the best performing State Award in Swasth Bharat Yatra and another Award for Clean street food hub award. After India’s first Clean Street Food Hub at Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad in Association with FDCA, Gujarat, three more locations were declared as potential Clean Street Food Hubs by FSSAI including Urban Chowk, Ahmedabad and Gopi Talav Surat from Gujarat and 56 Dukaan, Indore from Madhya Pradesh. In India, total 22 streets were recommended by different state for ‘Clean street food hub’ award. Hygiene Rating Certificates were awarded to 22 FBOs for early adoption of the Rating Scheme. Few more streets to be developed in Dahod, Baroda, Gandhinagar & Ahmedabad and 2 more streets are in pipeline.
On behalf of Gujarat, Dr. H.G.Koshia, Food and Drug Control Authority (FDCA) Commissioner received the best performing State Award in Swasth Bharat Yatra from Hon’ble Union State Minister Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey at the Culmination Ceremony Delhi for their enthusiastic support & participation during Swasth Bharat Yatra. The Swasth Bharat Yatra, an initiative under the Eat Right Movement of the apex food regulator, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India - FSSAI, was organised in the form of Swasth Bharat Yatra cyclothon campaign that featured 21,629 cyclists & covered 20,233 kms. Preeti Sudan, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare distributed the Clean Street Food Award to Dr. Koshia.
