Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA) in association with GUJARAT AYURVED AUSHADH MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION [GAAMA] organised a seminar to guide Herbal Medicine manufacturers about new rules and regulation after implementation of AYUSH rules.
Shri Kamleshbhai Bhatt, Joint Commissioner, Mr. Anand Mehta, Technical officer and Ms. Priyanka, Technical Officer, FDCA guided the Ayurveda manufacturers about the new rules and regulations. Jt. Commissioner said that under the guidance of commissioner Dr. Hemant Koshiya, Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA) has started the implementation of Ayush Act, 2014. We will be happy to guide you about any confusion of queries regarding Herbal Products Manufacturing. Quality testing will be main focus in Ayurveda Product manufacturing. Dr. S.P. Adesara, Former Commissioner of FDCA & Member, BoA of Accuprec Research Labs also expressed his views.
Mr. Prabodhbhai Shah, President of GAAMA said that recent trends shows that export of Ayurveda products has been increased. Gujarat has 350 units, out of which 25 % units are exporting their products. There is more demand of cosmetics, spa and massage materials in the field of Ayurveda products. People are becoming more and more aware about the side-effects of allopathy drugs. So demand of Ayurveda products have been increasing. He represented the problems faced by Herbal medicine manufacturers since last two months in getting the permission of new products.
Dr. Manish Rachchh, Director & CEO of Accuprec Research Labs Pvt. Ltd. gave in-depth understanding about testing of Herbal products and Raw materials. He said that with the state of the art equipment and techniques, many tests have became faster and more accurate. As world over demand of Herbal medicines are increasing, Quality testing is becoming more and more necessary. He touched upon the new testing methods available now. Accuprec has received the approval of Ministry of AYUSH for testing of Herbal Medicines and Raw materials.
