Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today categorically stated that with a view to avail tasty, healthy and hygienic foods to the citizens, ‘Hygienic Food Streets’ would be started in urban areas of the state.
The Chief Minister expressed determination that it would be achieved through coordination between local civic authorities and ‘Food Safety Management’ of Health Department of the state government.
He was speaking after inaugurating 4-day long 16th ‘Food Exhibition – 2018’ organized at Helipad Ground in Gandhinagar, today. The Exhibition has attracted participations of over 100 food processing stalls from across India and abroad. ‘Food of India’ portal was also launched.
Mr. Rupani further stated that food is not just essential for maintaining life but also necessary for development of body, brain and health. New innovations and technologies are also essential for food and health to meet the demands of present time.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also released a directory. The event was also graced by organizers – Mr. Prakash Mehta and Himachal Mehta, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Mr. P. K. Parmar, Vedantacharya Giriraj Shashtri and others.
