An Inauguration of Ramanbhai Patel Post Graduate Center at L. M. College of Pharmacy (LMCP) campus, was carried out on Oct 18, 2018. The inauguration ceremony was graced with the presence of Mr. Sanjaybhai Lalbhai, President, Ahmedabad Education Society (AES); Mr. Pankajbhai Patel, CMD, Zydus-Cadila; Mr. Sudhirbhai Mehta, CMD, Torrent Group and many dignitaries from pharmaceutical industries, LMCP alumni and faculties from reputed institutions of the state.
Mr. Sanjaybhai Lalbhai expressed that Ahmedabad is the unique city in the country just because of uniqueness in the DNA of professional working here. This city has been always in one of premier cities for research and development in all the professions. All reputed institutions like IIM-A, EDII, PRC, PRL, ATIRA have been established here only. He also appreciated the wisdom power and generous nature of Mr. Pankajbhai Patel for his alma-mater, LMCP.
Mr. Pankajbhai Patel conveyed that L. M. College of Pharmacy is the oldest pharmacy college in India. There are many pharma colleges in the state and country but LMCP is different from all other pharma intuitions. Up till now scholars are given the training of industrial pharmacy but not clinical pharmacy. In hospitals, five or six doctors used to write different medicines for the single patient and there is a kind of communication gap. The Pharm.D. professionals would bridge the missing gap between doctors and patients at hospital level. Ramanbhai Patel Post-Graduate Center has not only goal of curriculum related training but also to reach to new heights and summit of success where this center will have the high quality research and transferred technology reaching from laboratory to markets for curing of ailments and new diseases.
Prof. Mahesh T. Chhabria, Principal, LMCP, informed that this newly established center is the one of the way to pay homage to Shri Ramanbhai Patel, Founder Chairman, Zydus-Cadila grou.. He had been the distinguished alumnus and faculty of the Institute. This center shall offer the Pharm.D. course to the scholars, which has been duly approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. In addition to this, Atal Incubation Center (AIC) will be established which will be the first pharma and health care center supported by NITI Aayog, New Delhi. Two incubatees have already joined and other six projects are under consideration. This center shall have modernized infrastructure, latest laboratories, clinical testing laboratories and huge classrooms.
LMCP expressed deepest sense of gratitude for Shri Pankajbhai Patel for generous support to create Ramanbhai Patel Post Graduate centre. LMCP also heartily thank Shri Sanjaybhai for support to create dedicated space for Atal Incubation Centre.
