Preparations for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019 has begun, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) - apex trade chamber in Gujarat is planning to organise MSME Conclave on January 19, 2019 to bring together the stakeholders on one platform. Giving details about the conclave, Jaimin Vasa, President, GCCI & BoA member of Accuprec Research Labs, informed that the conclave is aimed at benefiting large number of MSMEs and help them create more business opportunities.
"There are three main challenges that the MSMEs are currently facing namely, technological upgradation, marketing and finance. The conclave will focus on these challenges and experts from the respective sectors will deliberate on the measures to address these issues,"
Vasa said.GCCI has also represented to the Government about the required changes in the definition of MSMEs. "The new definition of MSMEs is based on an annual turnover of Rs 250 crore. This will cause the large units to take away the benefits meant actually for the MSMEs. The benefits from other government schemes in procurement and purchase will no longer be available to MSMEs. We have represented to the government to bring down the turnover limit in the MSME definition from Rs 250 crore to Rs 100-150 crore and also consider the investment by the unit," the GCCI President said.GCCI is also preparing a note on the suggestions for the new textile policy in the State and the Centre.
