A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signeds between Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) and Apollo Hospital Education and Research Foundation (AHERF) on 16th April, 2018 under guidance of Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, DPSRU with co-ordinatorship of Dr. Madhu Gupta, Dr. Rajiv and other faculty members,staff members and students. This MoU was signed by Prof. Raman Dang, Registrar, DPSRU and Dr. Gautam Kumar Saha (Scientific Associates), AHERF to jointly develop a research centre of excellence in the area of clinical research with good standards and values. Also in training of the research professionals and apply for joint research programs as well as planning to run Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research.
The venue was the university board room in DPSRU, Delhi. The resource person for this MoU were Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, DPSRU, Professor Nirmal Kumar Ganguly (President, AHERF), Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Dr. Sunita Kumari, Dr. Gautam Kumar Saha, Prof. Raman Dang, Registrar DPSRU, Prof. D.P. Pathak, Director DIPSAR, Prof. Harvinder popli, Offtg. Dean DPSRU, Dr. Madhu Gupta, Co-ordinator, DPSRU.
Prof. Raman Dang gave his welcome speech and introduces the university and formally welcomed the dignitaries. Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal shared the university vision and mission with progressive detail and achievements of university till date and said that it was not the event but the attitude that may be a success mantra that come across with amalgamation of clinical, academic and research disciplines. Professor Nirmal Kumar Ganguly envisioned his thoughts, experience and facts of clinical research areas, interdisciplinary research with full commitment to the achievement and maintenance of excellence in education, research and healthcare for the benefit of humanity.
Dr. Madhu Gupta, Co-ordinator of this event shared her view about this MoU and conducting joint research training program that ultimately train research professionals and equip them with the critical skills needed to develop and promote scientifically valid and ethically appropriate clinical research. This MoU sets out the basic terms of the proposed collaboration and to provide opportunities for both staff and students to use to maximum the expertise and facilities available in both the organizations through training of students/ staff and through exchange of thoughts by brain storming sessions/seminars/workshops and meetings as well as work jointly for the common research interest at national and international levels. Dr. Rajiv Tonk offered the vote of thanks for the MoU event.
This MoU will provide benefits to students through multi-dimensional programmes by the experienced faculty and Hospital-institute interaction coupled with latest tools and techniques namely as use of Bio-informatics tools for predictive models in diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and follow up, and validation of the same using experimental techniques that make them potential leaders, Initiating new joint educational and training programs of national need and relevance in the fields of Clinical Trials, Clinical Research and allied areas with assured placement in their chosen profession.
