Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( GCCI ) took a study tour to Inland Container ICD -Thor Dry Port at Sanand . It was a very informative visit & they have the excellent infrastructure!

HPCSL ventured into service sector in 2001 & started its first Inland Container Depot at Jodhpur followed by SANAND in Ahmedabad. The Thar Dry Port ICD in Jodhpur is a fully equipped dry port for CFS & CY cargo handling services, linked to gateway ports of Nhava Sheva, Mundra. The Thar Dry Port popularly known as ICD Sanand a Unit of Hasti Petro Chemical and Shipping Ltd, becomes the first and the only ICD to receive permission for movement of double stack containers on existing BG low platform container wagon type BLCA/BLCB for its ICD at SANAND from ports of Mundra and Pipavav.
ICD “The Thar Dry Port” – SANAND in its continuous effort to facilitate a variety of services under one roof, is in advanced stages of completion of its own 3 Rail siding (PFT) within its terminal to efficiently handle container trains which will ensure faster turn-around of containers saving both time and cost for shippers and Shipping lines. This will also directly affect the operational output of ICD Sanand which is on rise since inception and is fast becoming the most preferred ICD in this region. This will also reduce dwell time of import laden units thereby reducing terminal congestion at Ports. Moreover it will also increase revenue for Customs and Indian Railways.
