Focus more on Rapid diagnostics in cancer-like diseases: Raghuram Rao

Prof. (Dr) Raghuram Rao, Director of NIPER - Mohali presented inspirational speech at National level seminar as a part of 8th Pharmavision 2017 organised by Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Arihant College, Adalaj, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

He was speaking in seminar titled 'Startup & incubation if young Pharmaceutical entrepreneurs'. He put emphasis on involvement of young pharmacists in Research. He indicated that Male contraceptive product / therapy (injectable) will be produced by NIPER shortly. He stated that there should be more focus on Rapid Diagnostics in cancer - like diseases. He also told about need of Digital Database for monitoring Adverse Drug Reactions. Dr. Rao said that use of Herbal medicines are necessary for deaddiction. There is requirement to promote alternate medicine for safe, effective and rapid de-addiction in cost - effective manner. While discussing about the need of celebration of International day of Happiness on 20th March to reduce effects of depression on human being.

In the evening session, Shri Sunilji Ambekar, Rshtriya Sangathan Mantri, ABVP presented his speech on Bharat (India). He said that we all Indian have to know about the history of India. He discussed about the life of Swami Shri Vivekanandji & said that 125 years ago, Swamiji had given speech in Chicago (USA) regarding Indian Culture.

He also elaborated the importance of Sanskrit language in Indian culture and told that all languages are derived from Sanskrit. He put more weightage on young students who have power to fight against corruption and crime. He added that Indian students should not go outside our country for their Research Work. There is new trend in People who want to use more natural or herbal medicines.

Dr. C.N. Patel, National Vice President of ABVP and BOG member of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) gave detailed information about how ABVP is organising Pharmavision since the year 2008. He welcomed delegates and said that this year around 1500 students (including students from 37 colleges of Gujarat) and faculty members are participating in the mega event. 60 judges have been invited for selecting winners in various categories including industry experts also. 200 Volunteers kept whole arrangements during the 2-day sessions.

Noted academicians including Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chnacellor of GTU, Dr. Himanshu Pandya, VC of Gujarat University, Dr. Shailesh Zala, VC of Bhavnagar University, ABVP Prant Adhaksha Shri Ravisinh Zala, Ravindra Mali, Darshan Gunjal as well as FDCA Commissioner Dr. Hemant Koshia were present in the event. Shri Rushabh Jain, Chairman of Arihant Trust and Shri Satish Mehta, CEO of Emcure Pharma also presented their point of views. Shri Adi Jain, Vice Chairman of Venus Group and Dr. Ankit Chaudhary, Co-ordinator of Pharmavision were also present.
