Dr. Manish Rachchh, Director & CEO of Accuprec Research Labs Pvt. Ltd. delivered a session on "Managing and Nurturing innovation through IP and technology transfer" at event organized by CII & GKAFC, Ahmedabad on 18th August.
He has discussed about brief overview of IPR, Global Innovation Index (GII) of top ten countries of the world and position of India in last 6 years. He said that in 2010, position of India was on 56th position in GII, then reach to 62nd in 2011, 64th in 2012, 66th in 2013, 76th in 2014, 81st in 2015.
Due to central government's various initiatives viz. Start up India, Make in India, Creative-Innovative India, National IPR Policy etc. in the year 2016, innovation rank of India was raised by 15 points and it reach to 66th position. Further, he discussed about the Chinese model of Innovation, which makes it largest patent filer country of the world and even surpasses USA too which was previously no. 1 country in the world in terms of Patent Filing.
He also discussed about current patent scenario in India, and provision of patentability in Indian context. There were 35 Industry participants including Directors, CEOs, VPs etc. from across the country from Pharmaceutical and Engineering sectors.
