68 % cases of Swine Flue are from Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Ahmedabad

Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani inspected the situation of Swine Flu in Gujarat by visiting Civil Hospitals of Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara and Ahmedabad with the Administrative Department and the Health Department of the state.

Giving the slogan of “Any Flu- Tamiflu” Mr. Rupani requested all the doctors and the people to treat with Tamiflu in case of general flu fever too. Tamiflu medicine proves to be effective in case of other flu along with swine flu. If the treatment is done on prior basis than this disease can be cured he added.

Mr. Rupani visited and inspected swine flu cases in civil hospitals of Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Ahmedabad as 68 % cases have been reported in these four cities out of total cases of swine flu in the state. He obtained the details of medicines and treatment facilities for swine flu. Timely treatment and caution are the best remedy.

Mr. Rupani was instructed by the doctors and the staff, not to visit the differentiated isolation ward for the diseased patients but showing his sensitiveness he personally met the patients taking precaution steps. He said the people that it is not a fatal disease and can be cured.

Mr. Rupani also obtained the details of the Medicines, Oxygen Cylinder, Ventilator and other facilities are available adequately. August month is considered as peak season for swine flu. As many as 2025 swine flu cases have been reported in Gujarat during this year out of which 1205 cases have been reported in urban areas.

Mr. Rupani said that Tamiflu medicines to cure swine flu is available in adequate amount in all Government hospitals and is given free of cost. Patients getting treatment in private hospitals are also provided treatment for swine flu free of cost. Mr. Rupani also instructed District Collectors, District Development Officers, Municipal Commissioners and High officials to have attention towards the availability of adequate medicines and also look for cleanliness.

Minister of State for Health Department Mr. Shankarbhai Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary to Health Department Mr. Punamchand Parmar, Health Commissioner Dr. Jayanti Ravi joined with Mr. Rupani.
